Job Description:
As a Senior Observability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our IT infrastructure through effective observability practices. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing observability solutions using leading platforms such as Open Telemetry (Primary Skill), Splunk, and New Relic. Your expertise will be instrumental in proactively identifying and resolving issues, optimizing system performance, and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain observability solutions using Open Telemetry (Primary skill), Splunk, New Relic, and other relevant tools.
• Develop custom monitoring solutions and integrations to meet specific business requirements.
• Configure and optimize monitoring dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide real-time insights into system performance and health.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues impacting system reliability and performance.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure observability best practices are followed and compliance requirements are met.
• Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in observability and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 6-8 years of hands-on experience in observability engineering, with a focus on Open Telemetry (Primary skill), Splunk, New Relic, or similar platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of observability concepts, methodologies, and tools, including log management, metrics collection, tracing, and distributed tracing.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyse large volumes of data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Splunk Certified Architect, New Relic Certified Professional) preferred but not required.
